I often blog about the early stages of the marketing journey. My usual message is about how to get your business visible. But today I want to share a few tips that are useful further along the customer journey.
I was recently asked on Facebook for some help in this area – so here goes…
So what do you do when you’ve put your all into getting your business visible; you have fans of your Facebook page, you have people on your email list, heck, you even have a good amount of web traffic… BUT, despite being visible, nobody is purchasing your products or services?
So let me start by saying that I’m a little biased. I am a huge advocate of attraction marketing.
For the small business owner, especially the one-man-band businesses, advertising budgets are very small. I always advise my small business clients that spending their budget on online ads, unless they know exactly what they are doing, will likely result in wasted money with nothing to show for it.
I used to experience this daily, as have many of my clients. Even the more experienced ones – we all find ourselves a little stuck in the swamp of overwhelm from time to time.
You know what? I think it’s okay – normal, in fact! Small business is hard, and please don’t let anyone ever tell you otherwise. There is no miracle cure, and nobody ever gets rich overnight. Although, there are plenty of charlatans on the web who would love to tell you otherwise, and charge you handsomely for their ‘secrets’.
