There are two broad categories that blogs fall into; the personal, journal type blogs, and the content-marketing business blogs. And while a little cross-over may be appropriate, I think it is important to draw a line in the sand between them.

Neither are ‘wrong’ of course, it is just important to understand that only one of the two types mentioned above is going to bring warm leads to your business.

If a picture says a thousand words, then think of your featured blog image as an important sales pitch for your post.

A big part of promoting your posts will undoubtedly be sharing them on social media. The title is of course very important, and usually the deciding factor for whether or not somebody clicks through. But the image is often what grabs the attention of the reader first.
